Friday October 9th, the new bachelor honours students came together for the kick-off of their Honours Programme. The goal of this day was to get to know each other and to learn more about the Honours Programme at the TU Delft.

The day started with an introduction by Peter Wieringa, dean of the Honours Programme, who introduced the concept of excellence to the students. He talked about the freedom to excel both inside and outside the TU Delft.

The afternoon had a more interactive character and started off with a game to get to know each other a little better, organized by the Career Center of the TU Delft. In several groups, the students had to think about their ideal work environment. Creativity, flexible working times and a good catering were the main aspects of this ideal work environment. These ideas were presented to the partners of the Honours Programme, who gave their feedback in return. The company partners also pitches their ideas about how they viewed honours students and their values to the outside world. In addition there were two inspiring speeches by Jeroen van den Hoven, professor of ethics at the TU Delft and Anka Mulder, vice president of the Executive Board of the TU Delft.

The end of the afternoon was concluded with drinks and a nice buffet. The Kick-off event offered the new honours students a lot of information and new impressions and sent them off on a flying start!
