Cool Down the Planet looking for students to participate in a team
COOL DOWN THE PLANET
LOOKING FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN A TEAM
A new initiative “Cool Down The Planet” is looking for students who will be part of a team that works out a pilot-challenge in June. They will be asked to spend about 4 hrs. a day from June 12 until June 30. As a reward TU Delft offers you a 'letter of reference'.
Cool Down The Planet invites you to help solve this ‘online’ challenge:
CAN WE MAKE SUSTAINABLE OFFSHORE CLOUD FACTORIES?
More clouds will raise Earth’s albedo.
We need between 5 and 10 students from different disciplines and departments, who are motivated to focus on this issue and do some research in their field of interest. They are expected to work in an online environment and collaborate with ‘the crowd’.
We’ll guide you through the process.
ENGINEERING AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE WITH: A STUDENT TEAM / THE CROWD / MODERATORS
Later this year Cool Down The Planet starts an international contest, initiated and hosted by TU Delft. Multidisciplinary student teams from different universities go into a competition to work out what they consider to be the most feasible and impactful solution against climate change.
We call it ‘crowd engineering’. The idea of involving the crowd is inspired by an obvious trend: using web based collaboration-tools to solve public challenges. Now let’s try to beat the most urgent issue of this century this way! Cool Down The Planet has the ambition of being the first real crowd engineering instrument in the fight against global warming.
